Whole Wide Water is a collaboration founded by writer Lindsay Kayser and multidisciplinary artist Anthony Barilla, involving an assortment of partners and encompassing a variety of projects, transmitted over a span of 20 years. Collaborators include sculptors, astronauts, and musicians of all kinds.

Using hand recorders and a station of mini musical instruments, whole wide water collected sounds, music, and spoken words from the visitors of Lawndale during the Big Show 2017.  From the recordings they have composed an original composition to be debuted at our SPEAKEASY event. Post-show entertainment will be provided by Houston's A.S.S., an accordion and drum quartet that plays new arrangements of your favorite Lou Reed, Beyonce and Bon Jovi songs.

SPEAKEASY, a program featuring music, performance, and discussions of contemporary art that takes its cue from the eponymously titled series that took place at Lawndale from 1993-2002.
