Laura Rathe Fine Art presents "The Space Between Stars," a solo exhibition featuring new work from Austin-based artist, Meredith Pardue.
In her newest body of work, Pardue transports the viewer beyond the sensuality and physicality of the painting’s surface. Varied palettes merge into organic forms that serve as a vehicle for experiencing the essence of something greater than the canvas, if only for a moment. The pod-like forms throughout Pardue’s work suggest derivations of nature, but ultimately remain abstract, unidentifiable, and ambiguous. The relationship between positive and negative space brings to the surface the interconnectivity between all things and the continuum of unimaginable space and all we can’t see.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display until May 9.
