Artist Christopher Martin offers his Aria Disks series as a visual metaphor to music. "Aria" is a nod to the inherent musicality that permeates these works. Each discs is an individual exploration of color transitions. Ring by ring the work vibrates in very specific color frequencies with very individual affinities. The discs shown together, become musical compositions, with high and low notes, where rhythm is articulated through scale, form and color. The compositions are as painterly as they are sculptural.

An abstract organic expressionist, Martin now embraces a true modernist aesthetic. Shifting from geometric compositions, where controlled execution is required; to fully expressionist works, where abandon and surrender are the key for bold compositions; the paintings are a manifestation of Martin's passion and commitment to creative expression.

Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through June 1.
