Latin Wave 6: Screening of Los Colores de la Montaña
eventdetail
Los Colores de la Montaña (Colors of the Mountain) is a story of lost innocence set in conflicted Colombia. Nine-year-old Manuel (Hernán Maricio Ocampo) lives in a rural village and dreams of becoming a soccer player. When he receives a new soccer ball, his dreams seem attainable — until the ball is kicked into a mine field. The film weaves humor and danger as Manuel and his friends attempt to retrieve the ball, with the slowly encroaching and inevitable arrival of military conflict to their village and their parents’ attempts to postpone the fatal decision to join one side or the other.
