Landscaping with Texas Native Trees, Shrubs, and Vines: A Pre-Sale Workshop

eventdetail
Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau

Many flowering plants produce nectar that attracts thirsty hummingbirds and butterflies, while some plants provide tasty leaves for caterpillars and seeds for hungry birds and small mammals. Learn what plants to use in your yard to accomplish a variety of goals including attracting wildlife and beautifying your yard throughout the year. Native plants are also extremely hearty and your instructor will guide you to species that can withstand a variety of harsh weather conditions.

After a classroom presentation, you will tour the Arboretum's two acres of landscaped grounds and preview the upcoming Winter Native Plant Sale. No prior knowledge of botany required. Closed-toe shoes are highly recommended.
