The event begins with an opportunity for guests to purchase art and network with folks from MECA. From 8-10 p.m., everyone will get a taste of what started Word Around Town as a handful of the original poets from the first year of the organization take the stage, including Joe B, Stephen Gros, Marlon Lizama, Jasminne Mendez, Lupe Mendez and Zelene Pineda, in addition to musical guest Cultural Ladrones.
Proceeds will help underwrite the Word Around Town Poetry Tour 2013.
