To Kill a Mockingbird 50th Anniversary Celebration at the Houston Public Library

Join the Houston Public Library in celebrating the 50th anniversary of the classic novel by Harper Lee at a series of events from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

To Kill a Mockingbird film viewing (starring Gregory Peck, who won the Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Atticus Finch, and featuring a then-unknown Robert Duvall at Boo Radley): 1 p.m.-3:15 p.m.

Documentary viewing: 3:30 p.m.-4:45 p.m.

Book discussion: 5 p.m.-6 p.m.

Local author panel discussion (including Katherine Center and Gwendolyn Zepeda): 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
