More than 1,000 Houstonians will be in attendance at Kids’ Meals 9th Annual Harvest Luncheon to raise critical funds for thousands of Houston’s hungriest children who receive free daily meals delivered directly to their homes by Kids’ Meals. Since 2006, the organization had delivered more than 3.8 million meals.
Co-chaired by Eloise Taussig and Elizabeth Moore Elder, the event celebrates those significantly impacting the future of Houston: Corporate Honorees-Group 1 Automotive; Burrell Legacy Award recipients Philomena & Arthur Baird; Golda & Gil Baker Award recipients, Elizabeth & Wyatt Hogan. Emcee - Bill Balleza, KPRC Channel 2.
The organization’s single annual fundraiser features songwriter, singer and New York Times best-selling author of Walk to Beautiful, Jimmy Wayne. Wayne earned the prestigious “Million-Air Award” for receiving one million radio spins of his song “Do You Believe Me Now,” and is the author of the novel and made-for-TV movie, Paper Angels. Wayne will share his journey from a poverty-stricken childhood, life on the streets and behind bars, to topping the country music charts. Guitar in hand, he combines stories and singing into a one-of-a-kind presentation.
