The Katy Prairie Conservancy’s Katy Prairie Bash 2016 honors former KPC board president and attorney Mary Van Kerrebrook for her passion and vision in working to conserve the Katy Prairie. This year’s theme is Naturally Yours: Saving Land for Future Generations.

Funds raised by Prairie Bash 2016 will help KPC protect more land, restore grasslands, and expand outdoor programming on the prairie. Now rooted in more than 20,000 acres of prairie, the Katy Prairie Conservancy employs best horticultural practices to restore tallgrass prairie and nurture native seeds to ensure that this local habitat can thrive. KPC also restores wetlands. Both the prairie and the wetlands provide much needed flood mitigation for the region.
