This live in-person and virtually livestreamed recital by pianist Andrew Staupe will present two of the most important Sonatas in the piano repertoire: Barber’s Piano Sonata Op. 26, and Beethoven’s mighty ‘Hammerklavier’ Sonata in B-flat major, Op. 106.

The program will begin with two works by Johann Jakob Froberger, who was pivotal in influencing the fugal music of Johann Sebastian Bach. In addition, a Ballade (2000) composed by well-known composer Sarah Kirkland Snider is featured, as well as a beautiful and melancholic Romance by Clara Schumann, one of the great 19th century pianists and composers.

All patrons will be required to wear face masks and maintain proper social distancing. There will be no intermission or open box office. All tickets must be reserved online.
