Born in Nigeria, Kalu James moved to the United States at age 18. Although he had sung in a choir since age 9, it wasn't until he moved to New York in 2001 to study computer technology that he discovered his gift for songwriting. With a blend of blues-rock, soul and African folk rhythm, James brings to the table emotive, genuine lyrics with his unique style of vocal delivery.
Band members include Kalu James (vocals and guitar), Drew Howard (lead guitar,) JT Holt (lap steel and guitar), Michael Rubin (harmonica), Nic Jay (bass), Chris Trafton (drums) and Robb Kidd (drums).
