The Jung Center presents John Faul: "Eating My Own Shadow," featuring paintings inspired by a dream. In his dream, Faul was riding a bicycle at night holding a baby girl and being chased by a large man. The man has bruises and open wounds all over his body. When the man catches up with John he pulls out a knife and demands $800 or the baby. John pulls out his gun and blows his head to pieces. (There is a happily ever after: he rides home with the baby while the birds and rabbits follow him celebrating his success).

After such an intense dream, John was inspired to use his artistic talents to express all the feelings and deeper meaning behind it. He uses mixed media (acrylic, oil, graphite) on canvases prepared with rabbit skin glue. No answers were found as to the meaning. Perhaps someone viewing the paintings will see the meaning behind the dream.

Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display until May 14.
