Wade Wilson Art is hosting an opening reception for emerging local artist Joseph Cohen's new solo show, "Joseph Cohen: Forging the Path of the Concrete."

Building on the Concrete painting movement of Piet Mondrian and Theo van Doesburg, Cohen works with reclaimed woods and latex paints, slathering thick mounds of paint across his improvised canvases, allowing gravity to create paint stalactites along the edges and adding a rough, physical texture to his layered planes of color.

The exhibit will remain on view through Feb. 13.
