The Port of Houston celebrates the centennial of the Houston Ship Channel, which officially opened in November of 1914. David Falloure is a local author presenting a comprehensive and inspiring account of the people, the events and the global forces that swelled a slow moving, meandering backwater into one of the busiest ports in the world, and one that is crucial not only to the economies of Houston and to Texas, but the United States.
