Now in its 22nd year, Houston's much beloved Japan Festival returns to Hermann Park. This year's Japan Festival brings about a reaffirmation of the event's commitment to Japanese and Japanese American traditions, both old and new. In an effort to promote the unique character of the Japan Festival, all elements of the festival, whether it be entertainment, vendor booths or food, will reflect a Japanese and Japanese American foundation. In addition, a new focus will be made on educating guests on the importance of individual foods, activities and entertainment to Japanese culture.

Organizers hope that by emphasizing authenticity, a new-found joy and respect for Japanese and Japanese American lifestyles will be created among past and future festival attendees.
