The Freed-Montrose Neighborhood Library will be hosting an event to celebrate the second annual “Literacy in the Bag” Book Drive with iWRITE Literacy Organization (iWRITE), Texas Tamale Company and the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation. The event welcomes families from the greater Houston area, volunteers and philanthropists to make an impact on our illiteracy epidemic.

The library invites families to come enjoy activities and refreshments from Texas Tamale Company and St. Arnold Brewing Co. The event will celebrate the close of the “Literacy in The Bag” Book Drive and motivate community members to give the gift of literacy during the holiday season. Activities will include face painting, storytime, a table to create and design your own comics, and appearances from H-E-Buddy and “i” The Guy.
