Houston nonprofit, iWRITE Literacy Organization, will honor 78 student authors and illustrators from the U.S. and abroad at the 9th Annual iWRITE Luncheon & Book Signing focused on Environmental Writing. The eco-themed event will raise awareness about children’s literacy and inspire kids to write their own stories, while also supporting fundraising efforts for creative literacy workshops in Title I elementary schools.

The celebration will begin with a grand entrance honoring all professionally published student authors in the 9th anthology, I Write Short Stories by Kids for Kids.

This year’s luncheon co-chairs, Kelly and Clive Hess and Suganya and Arun Mani, will present about the importance of literacy as a vehicle for advocacy and celebrate the student authors. Kid emcees Juliette Hess and Eshaan Mani will host the event in the spirit of stories by and for kids. They will recognize their peers, including those from far away locales like Bhutan and Taipei.
