The Italian Cultural & Community Center presents the Ciao Houston Summer Film Festival, featuring screenings of contemporary Italian comedies.

Ciao Houston Summer Film Festival Schedule:

  • May 16: The Prize - Giovanni is a cynical and self-centered best-selling novelist who has lived an exaggerated life. When he finds out he has been awarded with the Nobel Prize for Literature, because of his fear of flying, he plans to drive from Rome to Stockholm for the ceremony. He involves in this trip his son Oreste, a personal trainer, and his daughter Lucrezia, a blogger, both losers in his eyes. In a journey full of unexpected events, they will have a unique opportunity to face deep family dynamics and get to better know each other.
  • June 27: Couch Potatoes - Giorgio and Tito, father and son. A successful journalist and a lazy teenager apparently impossible to understand. Giorgio’s dream is to take Tito to the Nasca Hill in Liguria, but Tito prefers to spend his entire day with his group of friends, eating, talking about nothing and playing video games. Until one day, when he suddenly informs his father that he would join him in this trip. After a series of accidents and misunderstandings, at the end, somehow father and son will find the way to communicate… or at least they will try.
  • July 25: Them Who - What would you do if your life gets twisted upside down by the best of the tricksters? With no more money, job and even girlfriend, David runs after his swindler Marcello, but charmed by his life, he suddenly decides to join him.
