Quilters and quilt lovers of all ages will flood Houston for the annual International Quilt Festival. More than 1,000 quilts and other fabric-art pieces are on display and for sale at the George R. Brown Convention Center. The festival highlight is the International Quilt Association contest, with tens of thousands of dollars in prize money. Other exhibits include a selection of international quilts, quilts featuring indigo dyeing and innovations in fabric such as art cloth and hand-painted Bali prints. Classes are also offered for those who would like to improve their technique.
