In the latest installment of the Inprint Margaret Brown Root Reading Series, Texas writers Oscar Casares and Gwendolyn Zepeda will read from their works, followed by an on-stage interview conducted by Marina Tristan, assistant director of Arte Público Press at the University of Houston.
Raised in Brownsville, Casares set his collection of short stories, Brownsville: Stories, and his first novel, Amigoland, in the south Texas city. Casares, the recipient of a 2006 National Endowment for the Arts fellowship, teaches creative writing at the University of Texas in Austin.
Native Houstonian Zepeda, is the author of To the Last Man I Slept With and All the Jerks Just Like Him, and novels Houston, We Have a Problema and Lone Star Legend.
