The Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading Series continues with MacArthur Fellow Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and National Book Award winner Colum McCann.
Adichie, born in Nigeria, is the author of the novel Purple Hibiscus, Half of a Yellow Sun, which won the 2007 Orange Prize and was a New York Times Notable Book. Of her latest, Americanah, The Los Angeles Times says, "is part love story, part social critique and one of the best you'll read this year."
McCann, born in Dublin, Ireland, is the bestselling author of the 2009 National Book Award winner Let the Great World Spin. His latest book, TransAtlantic, long-listed for the Man Booker Prize, is described by Kirkus Reviews as "a masterful and profoundly moving novel that employs exquisite language."
The reading will be followed by an onstage interview conducted by Houston writer Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni and a book sale and signing.
