MacArthur fellow George Saunders is the author of two novels, four story collections, several essay collections, and more. He'll come to Houston with his new novel, Vigil, which takes place at the bedside of an oil company CEO, in the twilight hours of his life, as he is ferried from this world into the next - and, in the process, spins a tale that encompasses life and death, good and evil, and the thorny question of absolution.
Saunders will read from Vigil, followed by an on-stage conversation led by a local writer/journalist. The evening will conclude with a book sale and signing.
