Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading Series: Edwidge Danticat and Daniel Woodrell

eventdetail

Renowned Haitian-American writer Edwidge Danticat, author of the National Book Critics Circle Award-winning memoir Brother, I'm Dying, comes to Houston to read from her new novel Claire of the Sea Light, which Ann Patchett calls "a jewel — a remarkable book, as luminous as its title." Danticat is also the recipient of a MacArthur Genius fellowship.

Daniel Woodrell, author of the critically acclaimed novel (and film adaptation) Winter's Bone, will read from his new book, The Maid's Version, which Newsweek calls "one more resplendent trophy on the shelf of an American master." Five of Woodrell's nine novels have been selected as New York Times Notable Books of the Year.
