eventdetail
Asia Society Texas Center

Inspired by the exhibit Universe Is Flux: The Art of Tawara Yūsaku, these two classes on East Asian ink painting will be led by Mari Omori, a local artist and professor of art at Lone Star College-Kingwood. Guests will learn how to use classic materials of mulberry paper and Japanese sumi ink.

Part one, set for Aug. 10, will focus on traditional techniques and simple, elegant patterns. Part two, set for Aug. 17, will follow a contemporary theme and incorporate actual elements of nature into the artwork.
