In celebration of Voloshky's 40th year, artistic director Taras Lewyckyj created Steppes: A Crossover, a program that included traditional Ukrainian works lost during Soviet times along with new works created in the USA. The presentation is the choreographic end product of a preserved culture-in-exile, helping the new democratic Ukraine struggle to rebuild and crossover from Soviet east to European west. The production reinforces the pluralistic American experience that respects and embraces all cultures.
