The Immunization Partnership will host the 8th annual Community Immunity Spring Luncheon. Hundreds of community leaders, vaccine advocates and supporters will come together to honor leaders who help to advance immunizations and immunization rates, while raising funds to support programs. The Ralph D. Feigin, MD Award for Excellence will be awarded to Dr. Julie Boom, director of the Texas Children's Hospital Immunization Project and director of Infant and Childhood Immunization for the Center for Vaccine Awareness and Research. MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Dr. Ronald A. DePinho, president, will accept the John R. Boettiger, Jr. Award for Community Partnership.
Another highlight of the luncheon will be “The hidden faces of HPV-related cancers” panel discussion. Facilitated by Mustafa Tameez, panelists include throat and neck cancer survivor Bert Noojin and cervical cancer survivor Kara Million.
