The Immanuel and Helen Olshan Texas Music Festival showcases classical music's rising stars in more than 30 performances. Based at the University of Houston's Moores School of Music, the one-month international music residency program begins with this Grand Celebratory Opening orchestra performance.
Conductor Franz Anton Krager leads soprano Cynthia Clayton, mezzo-soprano Melanie Sonnenberg in Mahler's Symphony No. 2 in C Minor "Resurrection" — a fitting beginning for a festival that keeps classical music alive during a season when most have no choice but to go on summer hibernation.
