Currently celebrating its 41st year, the downtown festival features continuous music, dance and cultural performances on 10 stages. Each year, iFest presents world music and dance to demonstrate how art can communicate across cultural and linguistic barriers. This year’s lineup focuses on the nations of the Silk Road, from China, India and Turkey to the Middle East.
On April 30 and May 1, the Golden Dragon Acrobats, one of the top Chinese acrobatic troupes, will be featured in multiple performances. On May 7 and 8, Indian dancers perform Bollywood Blast!, a celebration of India’s internationally acclaimed musical style, produced by the award-winning Houston-based choreographer Rathna Kumar.
