eventdetail

Hyde Park Gallery presents two celebrated photographers for its FotoFest exhibit. Bob Gomel was born and raised in New York City. After serving in the Navy, he began working for Life in 1959, producing many memorable and iconic images that became part of the national lexicon. When Life ceased being a weekly publication in the early 1970s, Gomel began making photographs for other major magazines.

Gomel is a world traveler. This show highlights the photography he has done in the last few years.

Magician, furniture builder, certified public accountant and photography travel guide Sam Gainer has a passion for photo travel that has taken him around the world time and again, to the farthest ends and remotest reaches. His tenacity in tracking, chasing and waiting for the perfect shot enables him to capture his subjects at the moment that epitomizes their essence. Gainer's photography features fascinating people, animals, architecture and natural wonders from every corner of the world.

On view through April 27.
