HSPVA Friends, the non-profit organization that provides support for the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, will host its 11th Annual Encore Luncheon to celebrate and honor the life of HSPVA’s 2017 Distinguished Alumnus, Harris Wittels.
Wittels was widely known for his work as a comedy writer and executive producer for NBC’s hit show, Parks and Recreation, a writer for The Sarah Silverman Program, and a frequent guest on the popular podcast, Comedy Bang! Bang!. A 2002 graduate of HSPVA’s Theatre Department, Wittels received two posthumous Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series for Parks and Recreation and for Master of None.
Comedy icons Adam Scott, Jeff Ullrich, and Scott Aukerman will speak in Wittels’s honor.
