The 10th Annual Encore for Excellence Luncheon, presented by HSPVA Friends, will celebrate Bryan-Michael Cox and his success. Cox graduated from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in 1996 and today is a multiple Grammy Award-winning songwriter and producer, working with popular musicians including Usher, Mariah Carey, and Mary J. Blige, among others. Over the span of his career, Cox has been responsible for more than 100 million record sales, 35 No. 1 hits and 12 Grammy Award nominations (including eight wins).
Cox also attained a Guinness World Record for the longest consecutive period of chart success for spending over five years on the Billboard chart, breaking a record previously held by the Beatles. He is widely regarded as one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful songwriters and producers in the history of contemporary R&B.
Mayor Sylvester Turner will be attending the luncheon and making brief remarks.
