The internationally popular sport of dragon boat racing comes to downtown Houston. At the Houston Dragon Boat Festival, teams of 25 (including a steersman, a drummer, 20 paddlers, and three alternates) race 250-meter sprints in traditional Hong Kong-style boats. Throughout the day, a celebration of Asian culture takes place at Allen’s Landing Park with food, entertainment, and activities for the whole family.
