Conductor Juraj Valcuha takes the Houston Symphony on a musical journey through the Russian snowy countryside with Szymanowski's Concert Overture and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 1, Winter Daydreams. Pianist Inon Barnatan, known for his poetic and sensitive touch coupled with impeccable passionate musicality, performs Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 17 in G Major, whose joyful and spirited outer movements are contrasted by an exquisitely scored Andante rich in solo wind passages.
