eventdetail

A concert dedicated to the music of French composer Maurice Ravel is inspired by the exoticism and delicious sonorities of Spanish folklore. In collaboration with Rice University's Shepherd School of Music, the Houston Symphony puts on the hilarious one-act opera The Spanish Hour. The virtuosic and enchanting Rhapsodie Espagnole showcases all sections of the orchestra creating a colorful texture and the program closes with the beloved Bolero, a composition exercise turned into a world-wide music phenomenon.
