Commissioned by Benny Goodman, Copland’s Clarinet Concerto is a fun and dynamic fusion of jazz and classical, from its gentle opening to the closing Rhapsody in Blue-esque glissando. The Symphony’s Principal Clarinet Mark Nuccio will perform it in a concert also featuring Beethoven’s lively Symphony No. 2 and music of the innovative Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson.

The Saturday performance will be livestreamed for home viewers.
