Grammy Award winner James Ehnes will perform Dvořák’s exuberant Violin Concerto. Conductor Juraj Valčuha will also share the music of composer Vítězslava Kaprálová, who left a powerful stamp on the music world despite her tragically early death at the age of 25. Blazing with triumphant fanfares and powered by an extra-large brass section, 12 trumpets strong, Janáček’s Sinfonietta closes the program with festive flourish.
