Houston Pride Band presents "Houston Pride Band Reads a Book"

The Houston Pride Band, in partnership with Friends of the Houston Public Library, presents its final concert of the 2013-14 season titled "Houston Pride Band Reads a Book." Guests are encouraged to bring books to donate. The performance will be followed by a reception with members of the band.

The Houston Pride Band will perform music based on familiar literary works, including Herman Melville's Moby Dick, Aesop's Fables, Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet and Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven. Band members will use narration and song to enhance the music.

Houston Pride Band's featured musical ensemble SaxWorx will also perform.

Houston Pride Band serves as a community band in Houston's LGBT community and performs at various community events throughout the year as well as in concerts and parades. Houston Pride Band is open to all brass, woodwind and percussion players and welcomes musicians of all skill levels.
