Through a collaboration with The Menil Collection and the Council of Literary Magazines and Presses, NANO Fiction and Gulf Coast, the Houston Indie Book Festival will be held on Saturday, April 3 at Menil Park. The event is completely free and open to the public. Now in its third official year, the Houston Indie Book Festival remains the only event of its kind in the Houston and Austin areas, featuring a variety of nationally-distributed literary journals and small-press books alongside booksellers, book and magazine publishers, small presses, literary organizations and writers. Among year's participants are Arte Publico Press, Brazos Bookstore, Brown Bookshop, Domy Books, Inprint, Kaboom Books, The Menil Collection Bookstore. Gift certificates and other items will be raffled off throughout the day and Houston's best and brightest writers will read from their work on the hour every hour.
