Audiences are invited to experience the exceptional talents of up-and-coming artists from Houston Grand Opera Studio at a sparkling evening recital in Rienzi's intimate gallery. Developed thematically, each performance features a repertoire of works by renowned composers and surprise talents, selected for your enjoyment by HGO Studio members.
"1914: War and Remembrance" features music by Fauré, Ives, Poulenc, Weill and Horowitz. The program commemorates important anniversaries that have occurred in 2014 — the 450th anniversary of William Shakespeare's birth, the 140th anniversary of Ives' birth, and the centennials of both the publication of the first volume of Proust's In Search of Lost Time and the outbreak of the World War I.
Admission includes a wine and sweets reception and valet parking. The home opens 45 minutes prior to the start of the performance for guests to enjoy a leisurely tour of the collection. Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes before the starting time. Late seating ends 10 minutes after the performance has begun. Season passes are available.
