Houston Grand Opera presents Aida

Houston Grand Opera

In the age-old tale of forbidden love, Aida is an Ethiopian princess who's enslaved to Amneris, the princess of Egypt. And through no fault of her own, Aida falls hopelessly in love with the warrior Radames. As he rides into battle, Aida is torn between her love for him, allegiance to her country and loyalty to her family.

Radames dreams of his triumphant return when he will free Aida and marry her, although Amneris also longs for Radames' affections. Romance and hope evolves into tragedy as the story unfolds.

The cast includes Liudmyla Monastyrska as Aida, Riccardo Massì and Issachah Savage as Radames, and Dolora Zajick as Amneris.
