Miller Outdoor Theatre
Houston Grand Opera presents Johann Strauss's witty farce Die Fledermaus (The Bat). Prince Orlofsky's costume ball — the most coveted invitation of the year — drives the action of this funny, clever operetta, set in 1920s New York with beautiful art deco scenes and costumes. Captivating serenades and lilting waltzes permeate the rich score from Strauss, known as the Waltz King. These performances feature the talented young artists of the HGO Studio training program and will be conducted by Craig Kier.
This is a ticketed event for the covered seating area. Free tickets are available (four per person over age 16, while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance between 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. If tickets remain at 1 p.m., the box office will re-open one hour before show time to distribute the remaining tickets. Open seating on the hill is always available.
