Past the Checkpoints, by composer David Hanlon and writer Joann Farías, is based on the real-life experiences of David Moreno, a trumpeter in Mariachi Aztlán, an ensemble of the University of Texas Pan American. Commissioned by O.N. for Young Professionals, this show is designed for middle school and high school aged students.

Young Neighbors, Neighborhood Center's young professional group, will hold its next gathering at this world premiere, on Feb. 15 at 5 p.m.

Young Neighbors was created with a simple goal in mind: to gather young people in the Houston community, create connections and experiences, and to cultivate passion to serve people for good.
