Houston Grand Opera opens the 2009-2010 season with Gaetano Donizetti's lighthearted romantic comedy The Elixir of Love. It's the story of a magic potion and a love triangle between a lovable bumpkin, a dashing sergeant and the bewitching town flirt, with plenty of bel canto vocal acrobatics. Highlights include the popular aria "Una Furtiva Lagrima," and renowned baritone Alessandro Corbelli in the role of Dr. Dulcamara.
