eventdetail
American Festival of the Arts

The Houston Girls Chorus inaugural full-length concert showcases diverse works from the classical, contemporary and folk repertoire, including La Gallienne’s The Poet Sings, I’m Gonna Sing (spiritual), and Vivaldi’s Esurientes from the Magnificat in G Minor. Presented by the American Festival for the Arts in collaboration with Houston Grand Opera HGOco, the Houston Girls Chorus aims to provide rich educational opportunities that extend beyond the musical experience. Director Amy M. Lewis, an award-winning choral music educator for 15 years, leads the energetic ensemble in this imaginative concert. Also on the program are selected chamber music groups from the American Festival for the Arts Academy program.
