Under the direction of Kimberley Tobola, the Houston Girls Chorus is part of the American Festival for the Arts' year-round program presented in collaboration with Houston Grand Opera's HGOco. This program gives young women a beneficial musical experience while helping them develop teamwork and self-esteem as performers.

HGC represents girls from more than 20 Houston-area schools and is the house choir for Houston Ballet's annual production of The Nutcracker. The performance will feature the seven-part Nursery Rhyme Cantata by American composer Nick Page. The HGC Madrigals, a group of 12 voices, will also perform several spirituals and traditional songs.
