Houston Girls Chorus and VOX – The Rob Seible Singers present "South of the Border: Music of Central and South America"

The program will consist of classical, folk and popular Latin-American songs accompanied by a contemporary American rhythm section and traditional folk instruments. Houston Girls Chorus and VOX – The Rob Seible Singers will perform as a combined choir on Misa Criolla by Ariel Ramirez, a multi-movement chorale based on several folk melodies of South America. Other featured composers include Heitor Villa-Lobos, Carlos Chavez and Astor Piazzolla, with a medley of popular songs arranged by Robert Nelson, professor emeritus from the University of Houston Moores School of Music.
