Da Camera's 2014-15 season celebrates outstanding creative figures who changed the course of history in music, science and visual art. Exploring the fusion of the art, science and culture in the 17th and 18th centuries, Tafelmusik comes to Houston with the imaginative concert "The Galileo Project: Music of the Spheres." The concert commemorates Galileo's first public demonstration of the telescope. Tafelmusik, Canada's award-winning period instrument orchestra, has become an internationally recognized ensemble, lauded by Gramophone magazine as "one of the world's top baroque orchestras."

Tafelmusik musicians perform the music from memory with a backdrop of high-definition images from the Hubble telescope and Canadian astronomers. "The Galileo Project: Music of the Spheres" features poetic narration, choreography and music by Monteverdi, Vivaldi, Bach and Handel.

This concert is presented in collaboration with Houston Early Music. Houston Early Music subscribers receive a discount on preferred seating for this concert.
