The Houston Coalition Against Hate, in collaboration with University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work, will host an engagement showcasing the artwork of socially relevant/conscious Houston artists like Patrick McGrath Muniz, Jessica Gonzalez, David McGee, Monica Villarreal, and Kay Sarver.
The panel discussion will be moderated by John Guess, Jr., CEO Houston Museum of African American Culture. The conversation, "Art in the Space of Social and Political Advocacy," will explore questions like "why artists should create sociopolitical work and what has been the experience in doing so?"
