City Dance Company performs new jazz, tap, modern and ballet works by Sherese Campbell, Stephanie Sermas, Jaimee Vilela Navarette and guest choreographer Elijah Gibson. The concert will include a preview of several pieces from June Bug: A Ballet, a work that explores the journey of one Southern woman from the pre-Civil rights era to the present day. The full ballet will be performed in the spring. Other works include two pieces that expand on an earlier work that explores the experience of women inside the prison industrial complex.
