Houston City Dance Company, joined by 5.Seven and the City Dance Ensemble, performs Password Required: A Night at the Cabaret, a tribute to cabaret shows that allows the audience to glimpse behind the scenes at the lives of the performers as they get ready for the show. The performance will be an upbeat blend of period pieces – taking the audience from a ride on the “A” train to a pointe shoe tap piece to a celebration of the flapper era to a big USO number to a tribute to Josephine Baker, all the while giving glimpses of the preparations, rivalries, triumphs, and disappointments that go on behind the scenes. These glances backstage will be accompanied by the live music of Song “Songbyrd” Williamson.
